Our Story

Cornerstone Baptist Church of Peachtree City, Georgia, Incorporated, was founded under the visionary leadership of Reverend Dr. Augustus T. Curry, Esq., who serves as the church’s founder and pastor. With a heart for ministry and a commitment to excellence in worship, work, and witness, Pastor Curry established the church with the mission of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ while cultivating a spirit of warm and intentional hospitality. From its inception, the church has embraced a “Five Star Hospitality” approach, ensuring that every person who enters its doors experiences genuine love, welcome, and spiritual encouragement.

The first worship service of Cornerstone Baptist Church was held on the first Sunday in January 2010 at the Peachtree City Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center in Peachtree City, Georgia. The congregation faithfully gathered there for Sunday morning worship throughout that year. As the ministry began to grow and expand, the church later moved its services to the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Sharpsburg facility, continuing to build a strong spiritual foundation and community of believers.

In the following year, the congregation transitioned once again, holding worship services at the Divine Word Community Church facility in Tyrone, Georgia. During these formative years, Pastor Curry continued to guide the congregation with clarity, faith, and vision. In 2013, under his leadership, Cornerstone Baptist Church reached a significant milestone by purchasing its current church building from Peachtree City Christian Church, along with the seven acres of land on which it sits. Soon thereafter, Pastor Curry envisioned further growth and led the congregation to purchase an additional fourteen acres adjacent to the property, bringing the total church campus to twenty-one acres.

From the beginning, Pastor Curry also introduced the concept of the “Hour of Power,” an impactful worship experience designed to honor the Lord while respecting people’s time. Since its first worship service, and by the favor and grace of God, the ministry of Cornerstone Baptist Church has grown exponentially both spiritually and numerically, all to the glory of God. As the church celebrates its 16th anniversary, the congregation looks forward with faith and anticipation to continuing its mission of winning the world for Christ and serving the community with excellence for generations to come.
